Mary (Steley) Pollard was born in the Colony of Queensland (1859-1900)

Mary was born in 1886. She was the daughter of John Steley and Mary Giles.

She passed away in 1980.

Mary Ann and Tom Pollard [4] lived most of their married life in the Howard area where Tom worked for the mines. They had four children; Irene, Cecil, Gladys and Stanley.

Tom died 10th April 1950 aged 68 & was buried in the Howard Cemetery.

Dolly lived on for another 30 years and passed away on 15th May 1980 at the age of 93 - she had been a resident of Wahroonga Hospital for the aged for some time before her death.

She had accepted the Catholic faith in her later years and was buried in the Maryborough Garden of Rest Cemetery after a service at St Mary's Catholic Church.

Tom and Dolly's daughter Irene, who married Harold McKenna, was for many years in charge of the Burrum Railway Station.
