Biography

Born 5 Mar 1879[1] in Johnson Township, Scotland, Missouri, USA.[2]

Birdie Florence Steeples is born to Harrison Steeples and his wife Adaline Harriott Nichols.

4 Jun 1880 Birdie Florance and her family live on a farm in Johnson Township, Scottland County, Missouri.[3]

Birdie marries John C. Pruett about 1899 and they soon have a son together. Edgar L. Pruett is born in Sep 1899.

19 Jun 1900 Birdie and her husband John own a house in Mount Pleasant Township, Scotland County, Missouri.[4]

Their second son Charles F. Pruett is born in Missouri about 1902.

Then the family moves to Mt. Sterling, Van Buren County, Iowa for a few years, where another son, Denny Pruett, is born on 12 Dec 1903.[5] Little Denny dies from Hematemesis when he is only 11 months old on 27 Nov 1904. Birdie and her husband have one more child die at a young age, but I couldn't find out details.[6]

In 1906 Birdie's daughter Bertha I. Pruett is born still in Iowa, but then the family returns to Scotland County, Missouri, where another son, Alva Harrison Pruett, is born on 17 Mar 1910 in Bible Grove, Mt. Pleasant Township, Scotland, Missouri.[7]

18 Apr 1910 Birdie and her family are listed renting a farm in Mt. Pleasant Township, Scotland County, Missouri.[8]

Birdie's father Harrison dies in May 1929. Birdie is mentioned as living in Memphis, Scotland County, Missouri in his obituary.[11]

8 Apr 1940 Birdie, John and their son Alva now rent a house in Montrose Town, Lee County, Iowa.[13] Their two year old grandson Vernon is also living with them. He is the son of their daughter Eva[14], who is divored and working as a cashier of a food store in Keokuk, Lee County, Iowa.[15]
