Biography

William Spring was born around 1823/1828 in Brigg, Lincolnshire, England, the son of John Spring.^{[1][2][3][4][5][6]}

He married Charlotte Maria Kirk on 6 January 1851 in Wrawby, Lincolnshire, England.^[3][6] Their children were:

• Eliza Ann Spring (1856?–?)^[3]
• Susannah Jane Spring (1857–?)^[3]
• Hannah Maria Spring (1860?–?)^[3]
• Dinah Walker Spring (1861–?)^[3]
• Adah Sophia Spring (1864–?)^[3]

William died in 1888 in Lincolnshire.^[5]

Research notes

Middle name 'Kirk' is from William's death record.^[5] I now I think more likely, Kirk was Charlotte's maiden name, having discovered 1851 marriage record.^[6]

Father's name 'John Spring' is included on marriage record.^[6]

William is not the son of John Spring and Hannah Spring of Lincolnshire who lived at Little Butchery, Wrawby, Lincolnshire at the time of the 1841 Census. Their son William Spring is living with them in Glanford Brigg at the time of the 1851 Census,^[8] while this William had already married and was living in Great Grimsby at the time of the 1851 Census.^[1]
