Earl was born 21 March 1892 at Harrisville, Michigan [1] He was the son of Allen Spencer and Harriet Howe. After his parents separated, his mother moved west with her children; Earl went to work in the mines; first in Chelan, Washington [2]
and then in Bozeman, Montana where he met Selma Enders. They were married 1 Sep 1917 in Bozeman. [3] He served briefly in the U.S. Navy during World War I from 24 August 1918 until 9 December 1918. [4]Selma passed away after just two years of marriage[5] leaving Earl with a two year old son. Earl left Montana took his son, Lawrence[6] to his mother's in Valleyford, Washington and re-enllisted in the Navy. He married Mary A Williams 10 Jul 1964 at San Diego County, California. [7]Earl passed away 5 November 1966 at San Diego County, California [8] and was buried in the Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery at San Diego. [9]
