Spenser-73 and Spencer-1685 appear to represent the same person because: As presented, these two Marthas have the same parents and spouse. The correct birth surname would appear to be "Spencer" -- as listed first in the Hartford records, and as shown in siblings' profiles -- rather than "Spenser". The information in Spencer-1685, which is well-sourced, should be retained; the only source offered for Spenser-73 is questionable.

Please note that there was only one recorded "Martha" who was a daughter of Thomas & Sarah Spencer -- Martha Spencer -- and she was born in 1657, not 1653. These profiles should be merged unless this Martha Spenser is a different person entirely, in which case she should be detached from the parents and spouse currently shown in this profile.

Note that there is an erroneous profile of another Martha Spenser [sic] Benton, Martha Spenser., b. 1653, that is connected to the same parents and to Andrew Benton, Jr., as spouse -- and shows a daughter Amy Ann Benton. Only one daughter named Martha appears in the Hartford records for Thomas, Martha Spencer; the inaccurate data should either be corrected via a merge, or the other Martha should be detached from these parents and this spouse.

Spencer-1685's parent was marked 'confident,' since no DNA confirmation statement is supplied. 'Confirmed with DNA' should not be set before the necessary DNA confirmation statement has been added to the child's profile.

Before marking a parent as 'confirmed with DNA,' please ensure that the necessary DNA test matching information is included in the profile for at least two testers, including where the DNA tests were matched, the amount of shared DNA, and the estimated relationships. Also include the MRCA and how the testers relate to each other.

You can see what is required under the DNA Confirmation (click) topic of WikiTree's Help pages, as well as examples.

Thank you.

Spencer-2150 and Spencer-1685 appear to represent the same person because: I believe these two profiles are for the same Martha Spencer, youngest dau of Thomas Spencer. If you agree, please merge Spencer-2150 into Spencer-1685. Thank you.
