Biography

Amos Spaford was born December 5, 1766 and died November of 1812. He married Experience "Speedy" Lawrence at Dalton on December 1, 1791; the daughter of Thomas and Abigail (Britton) Lawrence. He died May 3, 1808. He was involved in Shays' Rebellion, "apprehended and committed" on February 12, 1787; released to become the guardian of his sister's orphaned children. Listed as resident of Dalton in the 1800 census and Lenox, Berkshire in 1810.
