Members
- Michael Stills 13 inch Macbook Air (mid 2012). Using Mac since 2011. Long-time Windows user before I became a Mac convert. I dabble with my wife and mother's iPads and have been known to sneak in Wikitree on my iPhone 6. I keep them all updated with the latest operating system.
- Gail Cox on a 13 inch Macbook Air running system 10.7. I have been a mac user since the very early Mac 512 in the 1980's.
- Kitty Cooper Mac iPad, Desktop and laptop (in that order). GEDitCOM II software on desktop and laptop. GedView on the iPad
- Toby Rockwell Macbook Air 10.12.5 OSX Been a dual Windows/Apple user forever.
- Keith Baker iMac 21.5" Desktop running OS 10.8.5 (Mountain Lion).
- Matthew Cates: I currently use a late 2008 13" Macbook loaded with Family Tree Maker for all of my genealogy research. My specs include a 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 8GB 1067MHz DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M with 256MB, 160GB HD. I am currently running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5.
- Jillaine Smith uses a MacBook Pro, iPad and iPhone. The use of iPad and especially iPhone on wikitree is very frustrating but I've found some workarounds.
- Denyse Baham iMac, MacBook, iPad, iPhone - I have been using Apple Macintosh computers since the mid 1980s.
- Anne B I have two brand new iMac's (yosemite) in my office (his and hers) plus the old one, and a MacBook that travels with me and goes to the kitchen when needed and my father's really old notebook, that has his genealogy notes on it. (Sept 2015)
- Michael M Multiple apple devices. Mostly use the laptop here.
- Joanne C MacBook Pro, iTouch and iPad. Been a Mac user since 2010. I started out using MacFamily Tree software but soon switched to Reunion. I also have Reunion for iPad which is handy when I’m out and need to refer to a family and I don’t have my laptop.
- Kitty Linch Currently a MacBook & an iMac. My first Mac was a Plus back in 1986... Does anyone else use Reunion for their own records?
- John Kilcar 27" iMac [El Capitan], iPad and iPhone. Using both Mac Family Tree and Mobile Family Tree apps to aid recording of research and maintaining my tree.
- Bill Vincent Currently using a MacBook Pro, iPad 3, and iPhone 6 Plus. Began computer genealogy on a Mac Plus in 1986. Using Reunion software since it's early introduction on a HyperCard platform.
- Markus Birth Recent Apple convert (previously long-time Linux user) with a M1 MBP using Gramps, but eyeing at other tools also.
Tips
- One of the Utilities I find I can't do without is Typinator. Typinator expands text. You can find their page HERE. It is so useful when citing the same source on different profiles. I type two letters that I assign and I get the entire source in one swoop. Gail Cox
- (October 7, 2014) I found a couple of similar apps today and posted a G2G message about them. Check it out! Kitty Cooper-1 Smith

- typically if you click on a link to wikitree from email on the iPhone, wikitree insists you log in. Every time. I.e., wikitree does not retain login information when accessed by an iPhone. Work around: be logged in to wikitree thru your web browser. From email on the iPhone, click-hold on the hyperlink in the email message. From popup menu, select Copy. Double-tap the phone's Home button to switch to your web browser. Go to the window where you're already logged in to wikitree. Paste the URL into the address box. You won't be asked to login again.
