(To be read with a sense of humor please) Native of New Hampshire. Migrant to Massachusetts, then all the way south to Connecticut. Descendant of the State of Maine - all GGparents lived and died in Maine. Going back from there, many Loyalists exiled to New Brunswick, Planters profiting from the Arcadiens, many patriots, wandering from Massachusetts Bay northeastwards. Puritans, heretics, Quakers, and the original American murderer. A few Scots, a dabble of Irish, a French-Canadian or two, and buckets and buckets of pasty, pale English. (Advice to cousins: Marry someone with some melanin in their heritage, it will help your children if you live south of 50º.)

Why don't you try to live in the South which is a wonderful area of the U.S. though certain people try to pretend otherwise. From the daughter of a man who was born in New York state, served in WWII, and married a Texas gal who was proud of her pale and pasty skin but had to be careful because she didn't have any of that 'melanin'.
