He was named Ramon, but his probate record lists him as Raymon. His electoral roll entries, death notice and gravestone have Ramon.
Ramon was the youngest son of Jean Vaughan and Algernon Soper. He was thought to have been born on 13 Aug 1936.
Ramon Soper and Shirley Helen Spittal were married on 15 March 1954. She is the daughter of Frederick George Henry Spittal (1910 - 1982).

Truck-Driver Killed
NELSON, April 2. When a heavy truck, loaded with wheat and towing a petrol trailer, ran off the road and struck a steel telephone pole on the outskirts of Nelson about 2 a.m. today the driver was killed. He was: Ramon Soper, aged 30 (sic), married, with a family, of Marsden road, Stoke.
Ramon is buried at Rototai cemetery, Takaka beside his father's grave. [3] [4]
His gravestone inscription refers to him as a loving husband and daddy.

Frederick Henry George Spittal of Takaka born 25 May 1910 died 1982.
