Ernest Smedley always enjoys a visit in Chilliwack because more than sixty years ago he and his father homesteaded on the Gibson road in Cheam district.

Obituary

New Westminster, July 4 -- (Special.) -- The death occurred at the Royal Columbian Hospital last night of H. Smedley, a bricklayer of this city. He had been suffering for several months of rheumatism, and that disease was the cause of his death. He was a native of England, and he was sixty-four years of age. The only known relative in British Columbia is Mrs. Mogard, a daughter, living in Vancouver.
