Biography

Abraham was baptised in Dorchester, Oxfordshire on 26th September 1773^[1]. He was the son of Robert Shippen and Elizabeth (Wallis) Shippen.

Abraham Shippen and Elizabeth Gooddey were married after banns in Berrick Salome, Oxfordshire on 25th May 1795^[2]. They were both of the parish. Neither could write so they both made their mark on the register with a cross and the witnesses to the marriage were William Gooddey and Samuel Martin.
