He passed away in 1844.
This profile seems intended to be the father of Mary Ann Shippen. Since she is known or assumed to have been born in Stokenchurch, Robert can be identified with the Robert Shippen who was living at the hamlet of Bacon's Bottom (otherwise Beacons Bottom) in the parish of Stokenchurch, then in Oxfordshire but now in Buckinghamshire. He was living with his (presumed) wife Ann and a number of children, including Mary Ann. His age was given as 40, implying a birth date between 1796 and 1801. He was said to have been born in Oxfordshire. He was an agricultural labourer [3].
That Robert is probably the Robert Shippon whose death at the age of 46 was registered in Wycombe registration district (which covered Stokenchurch) in 1844 [4].
The birth date, place, and parents attached to this profile are those of the Robert, son of Abraham and Elizabeth Shippen who was baptised at Berrick Salome on 14 April 1799 [5].
That Robert might however be the person named Robert Shipton who in 1851 was living at Ewelme in Oxfordshire with his wife Sarah and two of their children. His age was given as 51, implying a birth date in 1799 or 1800. His birthplace was given as Berrick, Oxfordshire. He was an agricultural labourer [6].
That Robert and Sarah had a son William, aged 8 at the time of the 1851 census. His birth was registered under the name William Shippon in 1842, with mother's maiden name Waight [7].
Robert was also named as Robert Shippon at the time of the 1841 census, when he was living at Brook Street in Ewelme with Sarah (his wife) and five children. His age was given as 40, implying a birth date between 1796 and 1801. He was said to have been born in Oxfordshire. He was an agricultural labourer [8].
Robert Shippen of Ewelme, and Sarah Waite (according to the main entry in the register) or Weight (according to her signature) of Benson, were married at Benson on 15 October 1825 [9].
The marriage at Benson is thus connected with the Robert Shippen/Shipton resident at Ewelme in 1841 and 1851; hence with the birthplace of Berrick, and hence with the baptism there.
There is a second baptism at about the right time to be one of these two Robert Shippens: that of Robert son of William and Drusilla Shippen of Oakley [a hamlet in Chinnor] who was born on 28 February 1800 and baptised at the parish church of Chinnor on 9 March 1800 [10] (The parents from this baptism are attached to the profile of Robert Shippen.)
It is difficult to be certain based just on these sources, but it might be regarded as more likely that the person baptised at Berrick Salome is the one who married at Benson and lived at Ewelme in 1841 and afterwards, whereas the one who was born at Chinnor is more likely to have lived at Stokenchurch in 1841 and died there in 1844.
None of these places are so far apart that it is impossible for a man born in Berrick Salome to have moved to Stokenchurch, or for a man born in Chinnor to have moved to Ewelme; it is just less likely.
