Harvey Shaw has Jamaican ancestors.

Harvey Balmaine Shaw was born in 1902 in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of Jessie Johnson and Matthew Albert Neil Shaw.^[1]

In the 1910 census, Harvey was seven years old and living with his family in Boston.^[2]

In the 1920 census, he was 17 years old and living with his family in Boston.^[3]

Harvey registered for the World War II draft on 13 February 1942 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. At this time, he was married to Margaret and they were living at 622 Kirkpatrick Street.^[4]

On 10 November 1945, he appears on a passenger list on the troop ship SS Matsonia arriving in Seattle, Washington, from Brisbane, Australia. It appears he was traveling as a member of the American Red Cross. This record notes that he had left the United States on 19 May 1943.^[5]

In the 1950 census Harvey (age 48), Probation Officer, was the married head of household in Pittsburgh, Allegheny, Pennsylvania, United States.^[6]

Harvey Balmaine Shaw passed away on 24 February 1969 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania^[7]. He was buried in Boston.^[8][9][10]
