Mary ("Polly") Shaw was born on 1 May 1775, in East Windsor, Hartford County, Connecticut Colony. She was the daughter of David Shaw and Mary Terry.^[1]

Mary married Moses Osborn in East Windsor on 27 Aug 1794.^[2] They registered the births of ten children, all in East Windsor:

Moses Osborn died in East Windsor on 7 Mar 1843.^[13] After his death, Mary lived first with her eldest son, David, on his farm.^[14] After David died in 1854,^[15] she lived with her youngest son, Nelson.^[16]

Mary "Polly" Shaw Osborn died in East Windsor at the age of 91, on 5 Nov 1866.^[17] She was buried in Scantic Cemetery in East Windsor.^[18]
