Julian was born on December 2, 1828 at Indian Fork in the Hughett area of Brimstone, Morgan County, Tennessee. On December 17, 1849 Indian Fork became part of Scott County, Tennessee. He was the son of Moses Sexton and Leander Laura ( Hatfield ) Sexton. He married Easter Phillips on January 4, 1855 in Scott County. His Father Moses had two land grants in Morgan County in 1826, he also payed county taxes there in 1836. Julian passed from rheumatism and old age on February 25, 1917 at Huntsville in Scott County, Joel Dyer was the informant on Julian's death certificate he had Marion Sexton and Sally Griffey listed as the parents for Julian. It's possible Joel may have been wrong, so far there's been no proof found to back it up. It's always been believed that Moses and Leander were the parents. The 1850 census shows Julian living in Leander's house hold, Moses had passed away.
Military Service : Corporal, Company C, National Guard, East Tennessee, And Tenth Infantry, Civil War ( Union ARMY ) also served with Beaty's Company Independent Scouts.

Julian and Ransom Sexton died two weeks apart in 1917. Both have been said to be sons of Moses Sexton, but both of their death certificates are informed by Julian's son-in-law Joel Dyer and he lists their parents as Marion Sexton and Sally Griffey. Do you think Joel was just wrong?
