Note: State of Tennessee: Scott County. On the 2nd day of March AD One Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty Five. Personally appeared before me, a Justice of the Peace, within and for the county and that afore said, Leanner Sexton agreed about fifty-five years a resident of Scott County, TN. Who duly sworn according to the law declares she the widow of Moses Sexton, deceased, who was a Private in the Company commanded by Captain James Tunnell in the regiment infantry commanded by Col. Johnson Bently Taylor in the war with Great Britain by the United States on the 18th day of June AD. Where she says husband volunteered at Knoxville on or about the 20th day of Sep AD 1814. For the term of six months and contenus and for that time of six months and was honorably discharged at Washington on or about the 20th day of March AD 1815. She further states that she was married to Moses Sexton in Campbell Co., TN on the 20th day of Oct AD 1814 or about that time to the best of her recollection and was by me John Solman, a Justice of the Peace Campbell County.
