Marguerite Serreau was baptized on 7 April 1664 in Château-Richer, daughter of Jean Serreau dit St-Aubin and Marguerite Boileau.[1]
Marguerite, age 4, and her brother Pierre, age 2, appeared on a census taken in Québec in 1667 in the household of Jean Millouer.
Recensement 1667 Census LA CÔTE DE NOTRE-DAME-DES-ANGES
Jean Millouer, 60 ; Jeanne Le Roy, 45 ; Jeanne, 15 ; Geneviève, 13 ; Jeanne, 10 ; Marguerite Sereau, 4 ; Pierre Sereau, 2 ; 9 bestiaux, 20 arpents en valeur.[2]
Her parents came to Passamaquoddy, Acadie in 1676 and her father died there in 1705 in Port Royal. During this time he was with his son-in-law Jacques Petitpas, her sister Genevieve's husband. The wives and children were held hostage by the English (not clear which people these are) and presumably not gotten back. He also spent time in Ile Saint Jean and Plaisance. It is unsaid if his wife or which children were with him at any point.[3]. Marguerite was last documented in the Quebec census of 1667 at the home of Jean Millouer[4]
