Biography
Montgomery was born 6, 1814 in New York City, New York. He became an Episcopalian priest.
He went to Marshall, Calhoun county, Michigan in 1835, entered a hardware business, began a Sunday school, and helped found Trinity Episcopal Church where he was ordained and made pastor in 1841.
In 1842 he founded St. Thomas's Church, Battle Creek, Calhoun, Michigan. In 1845 he founded St John's parish in Buffalo, Erie, New York. He was rector and dean of Christ Church in St. Louis, Missouri, from 1854 to 1896.
Montgomery died March 19, 1896 in St Louis, Missouri and was buried in Oakridge Cemetery in Marshall, Calhoun county, Michigan.[1]

- He married Lydia Eliza Roosevelt on October 10, 1843 at St. James Church in Skaneateles, Onondaga County, New York. She died in 1852.
- He married Sophia Elizabeth Norton on May 29, 1854 at Grace Episcopal Church in Buffalo, Erie, New York.[2]
