Agathe Schurz was born on May 3, 1853, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Margaretha Meyer, age 19, and Carl Christian Schurz, age 24.

It appears that she never married as she is shown living with her widowed father from the 1880 census on.

She died on July 18, 1915, at the age of 62, and was buried in Sleepy Hollow, New York, in the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
