Biography

Elisabetha Margaretha Schober was born 15 Oct 1783 in Horrheim, Herzogtum Württemberg to Johann Jacob Schober and Elisabetha Knodel, and was baptized the same day.[1]

Elisabetha Margaretha married Jacob Abel, citizen and smith of Horrheim on 12 Jun 1811 in Horrheim, Königreich Württemberg.[2] She was his second wife and they had at least 7 children:[3]

  • infant girl, b. 1 Sep 1811
  • infant boy, b. 8 Oct 1812
  • Gottfried, b. 20 Nov 1813
  • Rosina Dorothea, b. 7 Oct 1815
  • Elisabetha Margaretha, b. 14 Dec 1819
  • infant girl, b. 9 Dec 1822
  • Christina, b. 17 Mar 1824

Jacob died 21 Apr 1837.[4] Elisabetha Margaretha died 15 Dec 1846 in Horrheim, Königreich Württemberg, age 63y 2m, and was buried in Horrheim 17 Dec 1846.[5]

Mother's Name

Elisabetha Margaretha's father Johann Jacob Schober's wife is referred to in some records as Anna Barbara Melber[2]. However this is his mother's name[6]. Most likely the wrong information got recorded one place in the church books and then copied to other records. Elisabetha Margaretha's baptism record gives the mother's name as Elisabetha Knodle(rin).[1]
