Barbara Stritzel (née Schober) was born and baptized on 28 November 1857 in Reuter #6, Gottschee, Krain, Austria (present-day Laze, Novo Mesto, Slovenia).
Barbara married Johann Stritzel of Oberblaschowitz on 28 May 1873 in Reuter. Together they had 13 children in total, 8 having been born in or around Port Clinton, Ottawa, Ohio, and 2 others dying before immigrating.
They immigrated together in 1882 on the S.S. Elbe in 1882, landing at Ellis Island. They settled in the Port Clinton area, specifically Portage Township.
She passed away on 21 August 1922 in Portage Township and was buried three days later in Lakeview Cemetery.
