George René was born on 4 June 1810, and was baptized the following day at Notre-Dame de Montréal. He was the son of Jacques Philippe Saveuse de Beaujeu and Catherine Chaussegros de Lery.[1][2] He married Adelaide de Gaspé on 20 September 1832 in Saint-Jean-Port-Joli.[3][4] He died in Coteau-du-Lac on 29 July 1865, and was buried there four days later in Coteau-du-Lac.[5]
