Mary was born in 1849. She is the daughter of Orlando Rutherford and Elizabeth Pherrill. In 1881, she is listed as a servant at the home of Almira Scott - her brother Thomas' mother-in-law.^[1]
In October 1882, she married Caspar Gee.^[2] Caspar was a widower with grown children. Mary and Caspar had no children of their own. Mary passed away in February of 1895, two years after coming down with cancer.
