Biography

Nellie was born on 27 September 1886 in Cooranbong, Colony of New South Wales, daughter of Agnes BLACKFORD and Thomas ROBINSON. She married Alfred Royce EDGTTON on 31 August 1907. They had seven children. She was 22 when she had her first child. One child, Alfred, died when he was 7 years old, the remaining children reached adulthood. Nellie was a member of the temperance movement, which began in America, seeking to curb the consumption of alcohol. Nellie passed away on 15 November 1971 at Western Suburbs Hospital in Waratah, New South Wales, Australia, aged 85 years old.
