Biography

Alvin Robertson is a part of US Black heritage.

Curtis Alvin Robertson, son of Wilton M Robertson and Viola Woodruff (listed as Viola McCocklin on his marriage), was born Mar 29, 1915 in Birmingham, Alabama.[1][2]

He married Alpha Bliss Anderson on 25 April 1940.[3]

They had three children, a son and two daughters.

The youngest daughter Carole was killed in the 1963 bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham Alabama.

Alvin worked as a band leader in a Birmingham public school and his wife Alpha (Anderson) as a librarian in the Birmingham school system.

In his World War II enlistment record Alvin was listed as a musician or teacher of music with 4 years of college.[4]

Alvin Curtis Robertson passed away on 3 Dec 1974, he was 59 [7] He was buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Birmingham, Alabama.[8]
