Minnie Riperton was an American singer-songwriter best known for her 1975 single "Lovin' You" and her amazing four octave vocal range. She was the mother of actor Maya Rudolph and music producer Marc Rudolph.[1]
Minnie Riperton was born in 1947. She was the daughter of Thelma Inez Matthews and Daniel Webster Riperton. She attended Hyde Park Career Academy High School in Chicago.[2]
Her husband was Richard Rudolph, whom she married in 1969.
She died of breast cancer in 1979[3] and is buried in Westwood Memorial Park in Los Angeles.[4]
Minnie's obituary on 13 July 1979 in The Birmingham Post-Herald, Birmingham, Alabama, United States.[5]
