Hi Beckie, We are fourth cousins through the Lacy lineage. While Robert Lacey is your Great Grandfather; his brother; Jacob is mine. We share Elizabeth Gobble as a great-grandmother. My Great-grandmother was Cynthia Lacy. For myself, this is where my tree ends. Jacob married Charlotte Allison and there is a WALL at her parents that I cannot get through.

The Lacy lineage is an easy follow back....but ALLISON becomes CROSSMAN and there is my nightmare! All but 8 of my first cousins were so much older than me that they were dead before I was old enough to have known them. :(

Hi Stacey: It is nice to "meet" a cousin. I am Linda Riley Rusch, Beckie's Sister. I have done extensive research on the Lacy Line, Robert's father was Daniel Lacy and I am fairly certain that his father was William Isaac Lacy. They are all in North Carolina, however there are 2 William Lacys in North Carolina, one in a county near the coast and William Isaac Lacy in Orange Co, North Carolina. And this is my brick wall. My DNA says I am related to the William Lacy in Perquin Co, but all the facts I have gathered says William Lacy in Orange County is more likely the correct one. I looking to see if they are cousins, how or if they are related, etc. I believe, without much proof, William's father was Isaac Lacey from Pennsylvania. I did a little search today on what information I have on Jacob Lacey and his family My sources (Ancestory Searches) say Charlotte Allison's mother is Rachel Crossman. She married John Allison, 15 Aug 1827. They were living in Pike, Illinois in 1850, later in 1870 in Schuyler, Illinois. She later married Joseph Vickroy at age 45 in Pike Co, Illinois on 4 Apr 1878. I found sources for this information but I am sharing this as a big hint !

Hi Beckie,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are usually shared by many descendants, collaborating with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or topic. Review the project pages to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.

Can't find what you're looking for? Let me know, and I can make some suggestions! :-)
