SIMON REITZ DIES OF PNEUMONIA
Was Resident of Wilton Township for Nearly 50 Years.
Simon Reitz, an old WIll county resident, died at his home, 1514 East Clinton street at 11:45 p. m., Monday, at the age of 70 years. He was taken with pneumonia and later a complication of diseases developed.
Mr. Reitz was an early settler in this country, having come here from Hessen, Dornstedt, Germany with his parents, four brothers and two sisters, 52 years ago and settled in Wilton township. He leaves to mourn his loss, a widow, two sons, Phiip of Joliet, Henry of Blue Island; two daughters, Mrs. William Ginter of Joliet and Mrs. G. V. Mueller of Blue Island. George, a younger son, died 17 years ago. He also leaves two brothers, Conrad of Joliet and Philip of Wilton and three grandchildren.
He was a member of Wilton Lodge No. 640 I. O. O. F. for 35 years and a highly respected and esteemed citizen who held many positions of trust and honor in Wilton township. He moved to Joliet seven years ago where he has since resided.
Funeral from the house at 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon to the German Lutheran church, Rev. Richard Schiele officiating. Burial in Elmhurst cemetery.
