Biography

Josephine was born in 1890 in Manhattan, New York to Joseph Redman and Frances Moore. Her father was born in the British West Indies. She was married to Ernest Gordon, who was also born in the British West Indies. More than likely they were married in Canada, since that is where their son, Joseph E Gordon, was born.

Joseph and his mother are seen living with her family in the 1930 census, and with Ernest in the 1940 census. It's not clear where her husband was in 1930, although there is information that might indicate that he had traveled to the British West Indies. She passed in 1951.

Her only son, Joseph, was a Tuskegee Airman who lost his life in a mission over France in August of 1944.
