Biography

US Black Heritage Project
Mary (Redman) Allen is a part of US Black heritage.

In 1850, Mary, age 7, is living in Hardy County, Virginia, with her parents David and Elizabeth Redman. There were three siblings: Charles, age 2 months, Jesse C Redman, age 5 and Strother Redman, age 3.[1]

The 1860 census listed Mary F Redman, age 17, with parents and siblings Jesse C Redman, age 15, Strother Redman, age 13, Charles W Redman, age 10, George T Redman, age 7 and David K Redman, age 4 [2]

In 1870, she is 27, with her parents in Welton, Mineral County, West Virginia, along with four siblings: Strother Redmon (23), Charles (20), George T Redmon (18 ) and David K Redmon (14)[3] In 1880 she is keeping house for her widowed father in Frankfort, Mineral County, West Virginia.[4]
