John was born in 1742[citation needed] or 1750 in East Earl, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania Province.[1]

Marriage

John married Catharine Springer.[1]

He next married Barbara Martin.[1]

Military Service

As of 2002, twenty three DAR members claimed membership based on John's Revolutionary War service. He is listed as a Private 4th class in the 1st Company, 5th Battalion, of the Lancaster County Militia under Captain Alexander McIlvaine.[2][3]

Death and Burial

John died in 1820[1] or 16 May 1826 in White Deer Township, Union County, Pennsylvania.[citation needed]
