As of 2002, twenty three DAR members claimed membership based on John's Revolutionary War service. He is listed as a Private 4th class in the 1st Company, 5th Battalion, of the Lancaster County Militia under Captain Alexander McIlvaine.[2][3]
Death and Burial
John died in 1820[1] or 16 May 1826 in White Deer Township, Union County, Pennsylvania.[citation needed]
