Caleb Pyle, served as a Private during the American Revolution; 5th Company; 8th Battalion in 1780; and paid a supply tax in Thornbury Twp., Chester Co., Pennsylvania in 1781[2][3]
Caleb married April 6, 1767, at the Swedes Church, Wilmington, to Mary Matthewson, who died about 1827[1]He had been a member of the Concord Mtg., and was disowned 10 mo. 7. 1767 for marriage by a priest to one not a Friend[1]They had 16 children, and lived in Thornton, Thornbury Township, Chester (now Delaware) Co., Pennsylvania[1]
