The Lock Name Study project serves as a collaborative platform to collect information on the Lock name. The hope is that other researchers like you will join the study to help make it a valuable reference point for other genealogists who are researching or have an interest in the Lock name.
As a One Name Study, this project is not limited to persons who are related biologically. Individual studies can be used to branch out the research into specific methods and areas of interest, such as geographically (England Locks), by time period (18th Century Locks), or by topic (Lock DNA, Lock Occupations, Lock Statistics). These studies may also include a number of family branches which have no immediate link with each other. Some researchers may even be motivated to go beyond the profile identification and research stage to compile fully sourced, single-family histories of some of the families they discover through this name study project.

Would you be interested in adding a variant spelling it would be Locke. My family started out as Lock but it has changed to Locke
Am new to WikiTree but am connected by marriage to the Lock's particularly the Lock's of Ryhall in Rutland would be great to hear from anyone with similar interests.
My Lock branch is centered around Guernsey, with descendants tracked in Australia , New Zealand and the United States at this time. Uncertain as the origins of the branch as our first known Lock was born in Chesterfield, South Carolina
