Biography

John Pritchett Sr. is a Military Veteran.
Served in the United States Army Air Force 301st Fighter Squadron of the 332nd Fighter Group
Tuskegee Airman

John Pritchett served as a maintenance crewman in World War II. He was one of the “Documented Original Tuskegee Airmen,” a term that Tuskegee University broadly defines to include “any man or woman, military or civilian, black or white - who served at Tuskegee Army Air Field or in any of the programs stemming from the ‘Tuskegee Experience’ between the years 1941-1949,” prior to desegregation in the Armed Forces in 1948.” The Tuskegee Airmen were known for heroic combat service in support of Allied Forces in the European Theater. They served with the 332d Expeditionary Operations Group and the 477th Bombardment Group, both largely Black units of the United States Army Air Forces. ^[1][2]

John Edward Pritchett was born in Camden, New Jersey in 1919.^[3]

In 1942, he married Gladys Collins.^[4]

He died in 2019 at the age of 99.^[5]
