Biography

European Aristocracy
Thomas Poynings was a member of the aristocracy in British Isles.

Thomas de Poynings, 2nd Lord Poynings was christened on 19 April 1349 at Slaugham, Sussex, England; Born at Slaugham, Sussex.[1][2][3] He was named in the 1369 will of his mother. [4]

He married Blanche Mowbray, daughter of Sir John de Mowbray, 3rd Baron Mowbray, Baron of Axholme & Bramber and Joan Plantagenet, before 5 June 1372.[1][2][5]

Thomas de Poynings, 2nd Lord Poynings left a will on 28 October 1374.[1][2] He died circa 25 June 1375.[1][2][6] In his will Thomas requested burial in "the midst of the quire of the Abbey of St Radegunds, in Kent, before the high altar". [7]He made bequests to:

  • my wife Blanche de Mowbray
  • my sister Lady Bardolf
  • my sister Lady D'Aton
  • my brother Richard
