Hester married Eli Murchison McKissick (born on June 20, 1849 in Marion County). Their daughter was Martha Ellen McKissick (1879–1953).
Hester died on April 27, 1922 in Knightsville, Dorchester County, South Carolina, aged 67. She was buried in Harleyville Cemetery, Harleyville, Dorchester County, South Carolina.[1]
