Hi Pamela - thank you so much for your edit of James Power's birthplace. I tracked down that information through the St. Charles Parish Register and obtained a copy of said register. Still trying to determine his parents. He may have been a member of the Virginia House of Burgesses... there is a James Power who looks to fit that information. Still working on his history. Have collected a number of copies of Parish Registers, the Virginia House of Burgess records, and related information. And also information which appears to be related to his wife Mary. My brick wall is figuring out who both of their parents are....

Hello Pamela, just stopped by to greet you, a new tenth cousin that I just found...cousins through our common gr grandfather, Thomas Perrin (my 9th, your 10th).

I noticed that you have Morrises in your ancestry that were in Miss. I. Have been trying for years to find a family for my 2nd gr greatgrandmother, Emeline Morris Satterwhite (John) . She had a brother in Natchez whose name I’m not sure of. I’m always hopeful and if you have any info would be grateful to know. Stay well, Lula Tuttle Sinnott #2196

You're welcome. I'm retired, so genealogy is what I do all day long!
Hi Pamela, I am a descendant of Thomas Montgomery b. 1796.

I realize we do have autosomal matches to Willi and Mary Johnston Montgomery but I wanted you to know that William Montgomery of Indiana is claimed to be of a different Y DNA haplogroup. The R haplogroup. We need to find another proven descof that William's line, a Montgomery male still alive to test his Y700 DNA at FTDNA to prove or disprove this. There is a Y Montgomery study being conducted there and it appears our Thomas b. 1796 was a relative of Michael Montgomery of Amherst, Va. This is currently being researched and proven by SNP's on the the far downstream branches of the male Y Chromosome.

Hi, Pamela. Thanks for all the good improvements you have been making.

I just wanted to share an FYI regarding changes to women's Current Last Names. In some nationalities and cultures of the past, women did not customarily use their husbands' last names -- they kept their birth name throughout life, just as many modern women do today. The Dutch are one nationality that did not use husbands' last names, and the same applies to New Netherland women (in early New York and New Jersey).
