Perley Simon Porter was born on April 9, 1911, in Doaktown, New Brunswick, Canada, his father, Samuel, was 26 and his mother, Grace, was 29. He married Marguerite Marion Currie on June 7, 1936, in York, New Brunswick, Canada. They had one child during their marriage. He died on July 9, 1968, in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, at the age of 57, and was buried there.
