Marcus was born in 1841 in Stoughton, Massachusetts. [1]

During the United States Civil War he served as a private in Company G, 47th Regiment Massachusetts Volunteers from 15 Oct 1862 to 1 Sep 1863. [2] [3]

He married Hattie E. Jones on 28 Nov 1867 in Stoughton. [4] Hattie died on 15 Jan 1896 in Avon, Massachusetts. [5]

Marcus married, as his second wife, Mabel Howard, on 9 Jun 1897 in Easton, Massachusetts. [6]

He died in 1921 in Brockton, Massachusetts. [1] He was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton. [7]
