Biography

Minerva Porter, the daughter of Thomas Duncan Porter and Mary Hughlett, was born in Williamson County, Tennessee on 10 August 1823 and died in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee, on 13 January 1882.[1] She married Thomas Sumner McFerrin on 27 April 1842 in Williamson, Tennessee, United States.[2]

In the 1850 census Minerva (age 27) was in the household of A P McFerrin (age 32), her husband, living in in East Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee.[3] Her mother, Mary (Hughlett) Porter (age 62), was also in her household.

In the 1860 census Minerva (age 36) was in the household of P(urdy) McFerrin (age 40), residing in the 18th District, Davidson County, Tennessee.[4]

In the 1870 census Minerva (age 47) was in the household of A P McFerrin (age 50), her husband, living in Davidson County, Tennessee.[5]

In the 1880 census Minerva (age 57) was the wife of Anderson P. Mc Ferrin in Davidson, Tennessee, United States.[6]

Minerva died in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee on 13 January 1882 and was buried at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Nashville.[1][7]
