Biography

Alvin was born 31 July 1803 in Massachusetts[1] to John Poore Jr and Hannah.[2]

Alvin and Julia were living in Washington, Washington, Indiana in 1850.[1]

Alvan and Julia were living in West Fork Township, Ringgold, Iowa.[3] Their household included Alvin M, Ann M, Danel W, Clinton E, Susan E, and Wesley A.

Alvan was a shoemaker early in life, then a cooper, and later yet, a farmer. He was an avid reader, deep thinker, well-respected for his opinions and a devout Christian. He was a great orator and preacher.

Poore-347 and Poore-402 appear to represent the same person because: Proposal to merge Poore-347 into Poore 402. Alvan Poore is one of my 4th great grand fathers. My wiki tree genealogy has information on descendants of Alvan Poore and I also have information on his ancestors.
