Biography

Charles was born about 1859. He was the son of Alfred Pollock and Caroline Currie. [1]

He went to Highgate school. He was then an undergraduate at Trinity College Cambridge. He read Mathematics and, after "migrating" to Corpus Christis College, achieved a 1st class honours degree, designated 6th Wrangler.[2]

In 1881, having graduated from Cambridge, he was as yet without a job, but visiting William Done, Vicar of All Hallows, Bromley (London, not Kent).[3]

In 1895 he m;arried Grace Isabella Blenkin.[4]

In the 1911 census he is living in Cherry Hinton, Cambridge, with his wife and two children.[5]

A senior member of Corpus Christi College, he was appointed Senior University Proctor in 1911. (proctor is a post with disciplinary responsiblities[6]

He was president of Corpus Christi from 1921-8. (art uk website!)

He died in 1944
