Herbert Anselm Pohto Funeral services for Herbert Anselm Pohto, 82, of Clinton, Tenn., will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oak Ridge, Tenn. Mr. Pohto died Nov. 14, 2002, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge, Tenn. Born Sept, 26, 1920, in Fairport Harbor, he moved to Clinton, Tenn., in 1952. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, ASME Codes and Standards, St. Mary's Catholic Church, and BPOE No. 1684. Mr. Pohto retired from Martin Marietta Energy Systems/ Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where he worked as a mechanical engineer for 33 years. Survivors are daughters, Sharon Ann Koeth, Laurel Jane (Ted) Sliski, and Gail Louise (Dennis) Alexander, all of Knoxville, Tenn., and June Marie Safieh of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; and grandchildren, W. James, Sheena Lea and Caitlyn Alexandra Koeth, all of Cleveland, Melanie Ann and Samuel Gregory Alexander, all of Knoxville, Tenn., and R. Miles and Evan Safieh of Oak Ridge, Tenn. His wife, Ann (Birak) Pohto died Oct. 15, 2001. Friends may call 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. The Rev. Michael Woods will officiate services. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family suggests contributions be made to the Knights of Columbus, c/o St. Mary's Catholic Church, 327-A Vermont, Ave., Oak Ridge, Tenn. 37830.
