Ann Birak Pohto Services for Ann Birak Pohto, 78, of Clinton, Tenn., a homemaker, will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oak Ridge, Tenn. Mrs. Pohto died Oct. 15, 2001, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. Born Dec. 5, 1922, in Van Ormer, Pa., she lived in Oak Ridge, Tenn. from 1952 to 1973 when she moved to Clinton, Tenn. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Survivors are her husband, Herbert A. Pohto; daughters, Sharon A. Koeth of Knoxville, Tenn., Laurel (Ted) Sliski of Knoxville, June Safieh of Oak Ridge and Gail (Dennis) Alexander of Knoxville; sisters, Mary Sweeney and Margaret Bryant, both of Painesville and Elizabeth McFarland of Pompano Beach, Fla.; and seven grandchildren. Her brothers, George Birak, John J. Birak, Joseph Birak and Frank Birak; and parents, Michael and Elizabeth Ignatz Birak, are deceased. Friends may call 3 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the church. The Rev. Michael Woods of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Oak Ridge will officiate at services. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family suggests contributions to St. Mary's Catholic Church for its sister parish in Haiti, 327 Vermont Ave., Oak Ridge, Tenn 37830.
