Biography

Birth

Emma was born in 1851 in Witham, Essex^[1]. She was the daughter of George Pluck and Emma Butcher.

First Marriage

Hugh Reilly and Emma Belinda Pluck were married after banns at St Mary's, Newington, Surrey on 25th December 1875^[2]. They were bachelor and spinster and both of full age. Hugh was an engineer living in Blackman Street who was the son of Hugh Reilly who was a miner. Emma was living in The Lane and the daughter of George Pluck, deceased. The witnesses to the marriage were Jos. Geo. Pluck and Susan Pluck^[3].

Second Marriage

Hugh Hammill Nelson and Emma Belinda Reilly were married in 1887^[4].

Research Notes

On the 1911 census Emma stated that she had been married 35 years - giving about 1876 which aligns to her marriage to Hugh Reilly in 1875 rather than the marriage of her second husband.
