Obituary
She was the daughter of James Brown Pike and Elizabeth Carberry; Catherine died far too young at age 22. Granddaughter of Col. Zebulon Pike, Sr. and Isabella Brown.
- Neice of Brigadier General Zebulon Pike, Jr. who was famous for naming Pike's Peak on the Expedition he led into the southwest in the years 1806-07.
- Catherine's oldest brother, William Montgomery Pike, named his youngest daughter after his sister. Sadly, William Pike's daughter died in 1847 in the Murphy Cabin, at Donner Lake - Truckee, California ... one of the many victims on the Donner Party of that harsh winter.
She is buried at Greendale Cemetery, Greendale, Dearborn County, Indiana.
