Thomas was born in 1799. He was the son of William Pierson and Elizabeth Chamness.

Thomas married Elizabeth Blizzard, daughter of Parnell Blizzard and Elizabeth Beason, on 6 Dec 1827 in Whitewater, Indiana. They had the following children^[1]:
