Boycott Working

Waterbury, Conn., Feb. 11. The most significant feature of the successful boycott by the "we walk" unionists here is the announced in the retirement of Imri A. Spencer from the grocery and meat business, the nucleus of which he established nearly forty years ago. He sells to his partner Ruel D. Pierpont who, with employees of the store, ist to continue the business.

Spencer's wife was one of the first to ride on the cars during the boycott, and her action so incensed hundreds of customers that their indignation was cleanly manifest in the abuse of some of the teamsters and a great falling of in receipts.

Spencer, being wealthy, rather than publicly signify his regrets over the innocent act of his wife, determined to retire, at great personal loss.
