Biography

Ronda was born in Blyth, South Australia during 1917. She is the daughter of Ernest James Pearce and Clara Ida Mugge. She passed away in South Australia during 2018.

Ronda was born in Blyth, South Australia on 8 March 1917 to Ernest James Pearce and Clara Ida Mugge.[1]

Ronda married Samuel Butler Moody in Crystal Brook, South Australia on 18 March 1944. The following 'Approaching marriages' notice was published in the South Australian newspaper, The Advertiser, on 15 March 1944:[2]

PEARCE—MOODY. — Marriage of Ronda, eldest daughter Mr.-Mrs. E. J. Pearce, Crystal Brook, to Samuel Butler, only son Mr. -Mrs. S. B. Moody, "Innisfall," Maitland, at Crystal Brook Methodist Ch, Sat, March 18, 5.30 p.m.

The following wedding report was published in the South Australian newspaper, The Recorder, on 5 April 1944:[3]

Moody-Pearce
A PRETTY wedding celebrated at Crystal Brook Methodist Church was that of Miss Rhonda Pearce and Mr. Samuel Moody. The bride is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Pearce, of Crystal Brook, and the bridegroom the only son of Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Moody, of Maitland. The bride chose a well fitting gown of white lace over satin. A dainty tulle veil lent by Mrs. M. Douglas was held in place with a halo of orange blossom. A fragrant sheaf completed her toilette. Misses Leta and Emmie Pearce (sisters) attended as bridesmaids and were gowned in blue georgette over taffeta. For their headdress they chose matching pillbox hats. Shower bouquets were carried. Messrs. S. Waring and J. Thomas attended; as best man, and groomsman. The bride's mother was smartly at tired in a black jacket suit, while Mrs. Moody looked well in a navy ensemble. Both mothers wore colorful shoulder sprays. A horseshoe was hung on the bride's arm. by Elizabeth Poysden, of Blyth, At a reception in the Methodist Sunday School 60 guests were entertained.

Rhonda died in South Australia on 6 June 2018 at the age of 101 years.[4]

Rhonda was buried at the Maitland Cemetery in Maitland, South Australia.[5]
