I live in South Australia. I first got interested in family history research in 1988 when I visited the South Australian Maritime Museum during an event celebrating the Australian Bicentenary. The museum offered a service to search an immigration database and print out a list of those immigrants who shared my surname. I received a print-out which I later found contained the names of my great-grandparents and five of their children who are the older siblings of my paternal grandfather who was born in South Australia.
